Watched this today, kinda disapointed to be honest. Great cast some great performances but after being interested in this and reading about it i thought they would really hollywoodise it to the max but they didnt.
Its a decent film but an amazingly terrible true story that should be something more than decent.
Il give it 2.5/5.
Auld jake, mark and robert do perform outstanding.
I gotta go against you here and say this film is a bona fide 4 / 5 at least.
ReplyDeleteI mean , c'mon, everybody knew the end but yet Fincher took an unfilmable piece and made it not only watchable - but also entertaining AND engaging at the same time.
Kudos to him for that and kudos to him for NOT Hollywoodising it. It would have been a slap in the face to everybody who lived through it to do that to this piece of history.
This film will stand the test of time and much like Alien 3 & The Game before it i believe people will see it's qualities more and more as the years roll on.
I'd give it a second look sometime Guy - you may realise that you have been too harsh on it, but then again that's only my opinion.
And i like Weekend At Bernies ;-)
Aww man it dragged, there was so much from the story, with speculation and massive cock ups by the police that wernt brought to light, either make it hollywood or make it real he did neither. I think he missed so much out, like the ents from LOTR totally screwed over.
ReplyDeleteI will probably give it another viewing.
I dunno man - in the 2 1/2 hour timespan i thought he covered everything he could while still remembering he was making a film not a documentary.
ReplyDeleteGive it a few years and get back to it
